WHY DO WE HAVE MID-TERM EXAMS?! 🤔

🤔 PHS Students are totally busy right now with their First Semester Mid-Term Tests (huge congrats to our 12th graders who already crushed theirs!

The big question is: We’ve been doing so much cool activities—like the ‘Autumn Exhibition,’ ‘Math Modeling,’ ‘TikTok Club,’ and more—why do we still have to take these mid-term tests?

👩‍🏫 FIRST: FOR OUR TEACHERS
✅ Practicing test design skills : Our teachers don’t just “teach the book”—they get to practice and try out lots of different cool ways to test (interviews, writing, multiple-choice, and more!). It makes them better instructors!
✅ Evaluation and adjustment : The test scores give our teachers real numbers to see what’s working! No guessing! They can then perfectly adjust their lessons:
✅ High-Fliers: Get even harder challenges to keep them soaring! 🚀
✅ Need a Boost: Get special, unique help to fill any knowledge gaps! A personalized learning plan!

👩‍🎓 SECOND: FOR PHS STUDENTS
✅ Build a Rock-Solid Foundation! 🧱 Mid-terms help our students get used to the test structure for their grade level. More importantly, they make students review and connect all the knowledge they’ve learned since the start of the year! This is called “Spaced Repetition,” and it makes students remember things for a much longer time!
✅ Be Smart About Stress! 🧠 By having a mid-term, we break the work into smaller pieces. This reduces the “peak stress” students could feel for just one giant final exam! Psychology studies (like those from the APA!) show that this strategy helps boost students’ overall learning and performance!
✅ Train Test Skills! ⏱️ students get to practice key skills like time management, presenting answers clearly, and using scratch paper effectively.
✅ Know Power-Up Status! Students can compare their score now to the very first tests of the year to see how much progress they’ve made! They know exactly where they stand!
✅ Long-Term Super Advantage (Especially High School!) 🎓 For high schoolers, these scores are a secret weapon for university admission! They give students a huge competitive advantage in Vietnam’s challenging education race. Every point matters!

With all the smart methods learning right here at PHS, Students are confident masters of their time! They turn every single minute into a lever to supercharge their learning and development!
Even while studying for exams, they can still join in awesome activities like creating for the “Autumn Exhibition,” designing the “Math Modeling” projects, or having fun with the “TikTok Club”! This makes them more well-rounded!
PHS is so proud of students’ time management skills! It proves that the mid-term test isn’t a barrier—it actually pushes their potential higher! This isn’t luck; it’s the fantastic result of their continuous hard work and training! Keep rocking it! 💪

👉 EXAM ATMOSPHERE UPDATE 🥳

The exams at PHS are anything but boring! We have so many test formats: from 1:1 Oral Interviews and Essay Writing to Multiple Choice—it’s not “one boring color,” but a full, awesome challenge based on international standards!

Especially with the Oral Interviews: Only one student is in the exam room, and everyone else stays completely quiet and respectful in the waiting area. This shows amazing organization, teamwork, and social skills that are essential in any environment!

📌 So, the mid-term test is NOT a “burden.” It is a sharp, scientific tool that helps teachers teach better, and helps students improve and develop in every way!
