PHS School Thinking...
Have you ever wondered what a field trip truly leaves behind in a child’s mind? At PHS, we believe it is more than just beautiful photos; it is the thoughtful reflections captured in their small notebooks.
🌟 Learning from what is seen and heard Throughout the journey to the incense-making village, apricot gardens, and coconut groves, instead of just passing by, our Grade 3, 4, and 5 students paused to:
Observe meticulously: Witnessing firsthand how artisans skillfully roll each incense stick to perfection.
Note down carefully: Recording the history of the craft village and the pride of its recognition as a “Traditional Craft Village” in 2012.
Understand the value: Realizing that every fragrant stick is a crystallization of perseverance—from sun-drying the sticks to the careful curing process to preserve the scent.
🌳 Cherishing the artisan’s dedication Continuing the journey at the apricot garden, the students did more than just look at trees; they learned about patience. Through the artisans’ stories, PHS students understood that for an apricot tree to bloom brilliantly right for Tet, it requires a meticulous 365-day care process.
💛 The fruits of the journey The trip has concluded, but the students’ cognitive journey has just begun. The information gathered will now be transformed into:
Creative short reports and introductory videos.
A special summary project due next week.
Every notebook page filled is a moment where knowledge is deeply engraved. PHS is proud to see our students learning not just to know, but to understand and appreciate the labor values around them.
