From the perspective of teachers and observers, the PHS English Department is immensely proud of our high school students’ growth at the PHS Spelling Bee 2026. More than just an annual academic event, this competition stands as a testament to our students’ comprehensive English proficiency in this era of global integration.
Throughout the intense rounds, we witnessed several impressive highlights:
🏆 Extensive vocabulary: Moving far beyond everyday communication, our students have mastered a diverse range of academic vocabulary from the Bilingual Program, spanning Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Cambridge exam preparation (KET, PET, IELTS).
⚡ “Fast & Furious” reflexes: Candidates demonstrated exceptional listening comprehension and instant reflexes. This is the direct result of an immersive learning environment and consistent practice through the school’s periodic oral examinations.
🔥 Resilience and strong mentality: In a head-to-head knockout format under intense time pressure, those who reached the TOP 64, TOP 32, and the ultimate winners proved their remarkable composure and absolute confidence.
🤝 Flourishing potential: This year’s contestants were exceptionally well-matched, showcasing a synchronized development in linguistic thinking and sharp information-processing skills.
PHS Spelling Bee 2026 is not only an intellectual playground but also a solid foundation for our students to confidently master the language and reach international standards.
