📍 The very first stop on the PHS Summer Train journey in Nha Trang was the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Site—a place that preserves the memory of the soldiers who fell to protect the sacred maritime sovereignty of our Fatherland.
On Gac Ma Reef, on 14 March 1988, 64 Vietnamese Navy officers and soldiers heroically sacrificed their lives. All that remains today are the letters they sent home to their families, the personal belongings preserved through the years, and the image of the immortal circle guarding the national flag…
💙 The PHS students listened and felt the history with absolute focus, respect, and sincerity. There were contemplative glances, and moments of emotion that brought lumps to throats. Every footstep of the PHS group seemed to slow down…
📝 The journey did not just help the students, teachers, and parents understand more about a historical milestone of the nation; it also left deep reflections on the sacrifice, courage, and love for the Fatherland of the sailors of that year.
There are lessons that cannot be fully felt through textbooks alone. And Gac Ma is precisely such a lesson.
