THE NHU Y STORY: A JOURNEY FROM PHS GRADE 1 TO AN 8-YEAR SCHOLARSHIP AT A PRESTIGIOUS GERMAN UNIVERSITY

All-Round Talent from the Start

Born into a family that owns a clinic, Nhu Y was quickly immersed in a scientific, logical mindset and a spirit of discipline by her parents. From a young age, she confidently walked the runway in Malaysia, excelled in martial arts, performed gracefully in ballet, and achieved distinction in natural sciences, social sciences, and the arts.

A Resilient Scholarship Journey

When the scholarship opportunity arose, Nhu Y faced a major challenge: preparing for the Physics entrance exam—a subject she had not chosen upon entering high school. Despite her slender build, her endurance was astonishing. Nhu Y studied day and night, mastering the entire Physics curriculum from Grades 10 to 11 in just three months.

Leveraging her self-study ability, independent thinking, and the strong foundation in Math and Science in English gained at PHS, she successfully navigated three rigorous examination rounds. She competed against Grade 12 students, who were 1.5 years older than her, from Vietnam and around the world.

The result: She secured a prestigious 8-year scholarship (from Bachelor’s to PhD) in Biotechnology at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences—a leading university for technology and engineering in Germany.

The Spark of Inspiration at PHS

Starting her PHS journey as a small child in Grade 1, Nhu Y is now soaring on her path to becoming a future scientist, bringing the Vietnamese spirit to the world. Nhu Y’s story is a clear affirmation: with a solid educational foundation, relentless effort, and independent thinking, any dream can become a reality. She is not only a source of pride for her family and PHS but also a motivation for other students to dare to dream big and act decisively.

PHS Nurturing Dreams

Nhu Y’s achievement is a synthesis of personal effort, her family’s scientific guidance, and PHS’s comprehensive education program. Initially, when enrolling their daughter, her parents simply wanted a rigorous and standardized learning environment in both the Ministry of Education and Bilingual programs.

However, Nhu Y has far exceeded expectations, becoming a shining testament to the success of the PHS educational model—a place that cultivates independent, confident, creative individuals ready to conquer global intellectual heights. During the recent PHS Summer Festival, Nhu Y’s parents appeared on stage, sharing their emotion, joy, and pride in watching their daughter reach her big dream.

We wish Nhu Y continued strength on her scientific path. May she always maintain her passionate heart and create beautiful milestones for our homeland, Vietnam.
